Severn Trent – Improvements to water supply
We’re investing in West Penkridge’s future
As part of a major upgrade to the water network across Staffordshire, we’ll be replacing old water pipes in West Penkridge with new ones, starting in November. This essential work is part of our huge investment in the area to reduce the risk of leaks and bursts, improve reliability, and ensure your supply of wonderful water stays strong for generations to come.
We know there’s a lot happening across Staffordshire right now and this is one of several big infrastructure projects in the area. Over the next few years, we will be investing and upgrading in other areas in the county so we will be working closely with local partners to keep disruption to a minimum while we carry out this vital work.
Where and when we’ll be working
Work will take place in phases. From Monday 17 November, we will begin work in Bradley Lane under a rolling road closure. Following the completion of this phase, we will be continuing to carry out additional work in the area over the coming months.
The provisional schedule of works for the opening phases can be seen below:
Please note: Works will be paused and all road closures lifted during the festive period, between Friday 19 December 2025 and Monday 05 January 2026.

Please note that dates may change due to unforeseen circumstances like weather or engineering issues.
Following the completion of this phase, we will be returning to carry out further essential work in due course. We will communicate these dates to you as soon as they are confirmed.
Access to homes, businesses and emergency vehicles will always be maintained. Please bear with our team as they make the area safe for everyone.

Will my water supply be affected?
If we need to interrupt your water supply, we’ll notify you in advance with a card showing the date and time window. This is usually hand-delivered 48 hours before the work begins. We’ll do our best to keep any disruption to a minimum.
